A truly brilliant reading of the first in Abnett’s Eisenhorn trilogy. See other items More Back to home page Return to top. I liked Eisenhorn as a strong character and found the world of humans fighting demons and aliens fascinating. And I was completely blown away.
The other characters besides Eisenhorn, such as his crew, other inquisitors and his enemies, are constructed and written well. The Eisenhorn series is a fascinating step back from the never ending war of the 41st Millennium and into the guts of the Imperium. He scripted Macragge’s Honour, the first Horus Heresy graphic novel, as well as numerous audio dramas and short stories set in the Warhammer 40, and Warhammer universes.
Thanks for telling us about the problem. Xenos is the first book in Dan Abnett’s Eisenhorn Trilogy. Highly recommended, By far one of my favourite stories within the 40k universe. It works incredibly well as an audiobook because it reads like Inquisitor Eisenhorn’s personal account of what happened.

But all hope is not lost Dan Abnett writing is very detailed but at no point was like “OMG! Aaron Dembski-Bowden Narrated by: In short, the entire book surrounds a stiff, unsmiling guy with no apparent vices or emotional range who is a hardline conservative within his organisation but not puritanical enough for it to be absurd and engaging. The Best Books of Eisenhorn is every bit as officious, rigid and superpowered as we’ve come to expect from heroes of the Imperium, traits that would be tiresome in other strains of fiction, but that are right at home in the WH40K universe.
Other books in this series. The latter stage of the story more than makes up for xemos however. When his body is hideously damaged in an enemy attack, it looks as though Inquisitor Gideon Ravenor’s promising career would be abruptly brought short.
Keep your audiobooks, even if you cancel. I really loved listening to this book. While enriched by the knowledge, Xenos is told as such that it can be enjoyed with no prior knowledge of the universe.

Eisenhorn travels to unravel the source of the artifact abentt its intended purpose. If you’re interested in the Inquisitor side of Warhammer 40k and what they do to protect the Emperor’s followers, this is a great took to start with and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the trilogy.
