He has been honored with the Lowell Thomas Award for outstanding underwater exploration. Cussler began writing novels in and published his first work featuring his continuous series hero, Dirk Pitt, in Historical asides of submarine lore, Jules Verne minutiae and references to Viking runes in America add touches of real-life oddity to the mix, and nothing will prepare even longtime Cussler fans for the major surprise he drops at the end. You’ll fly through the pages of this book and won’t put it down until every little mystery is resolved, Aug 13, Minutes.
The very first chapter is about Vikings settling and discovering North America but not an event that has a happy ending. The Eye of Heaven. So, in conclusion, this book was more of an entertaining read than a substantial one. He will tread upon territory previously known only to legend. I don’t know how all readers of this book haven’t all given it a five star.
